Adam Petroski is the choir director at Benilde-St. Margaret’s School in St. Louis Park, MN. As a freshmen Biochemistry major at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, he continued his love for music and quickly changed course. It did not take long to find the incredible vocal jazz and a cappella programs at UMD that were directed by Tina Thielen-Gaffey. After experiencing the passion of TTG and other music professors, he was determined to share the love of music with as many young adults as possible. He performed in Lake Effect, UMD’s premier vocal jazz ensemble, for three years which included two performances at the International Symposium for Music Education in Beijing, China.
Adam is currently in his 6th year of teaching 7th-12th grade choirs. The a cappella group at BSM, the Red Knotes, are in their 2nd year of existence and are already making a mark in the growing Minnesota a cappella scene. They are busy performing at corporate events, holiday parties and fundraisers throughout the year. Including a performance for the Shriners of Minnesota which raised funds for local children’s hospitals. They also enjoy performing the national anthem at local sporting events, including the Minnesota Timberwolves in December. The Red Knotes are excited to hang out with local high school singers at ICHSA again this year! Their main goal is to share their love for music with the world and show Minnesota how effective a cappella music can be in the high school setting!
Please contact Adam with ANY questions at all! He would love to help get anyone started with a cappella singing!
