RIZUMIK is an artist mostly known for his rhythmic and improvisational skills. Born in Portugal and based in NYC, Rizumik connects to playing, acting, singing, dancing, and teaching, mostly through beatbox, percussion and tap dance. In 2016, he was part of the faculty of Bobby McFerrin's Circlesongs course, at Omega Institute. He was the lead in the internationally acclaimed show The Voca People, having performed on Off-Broadway and around the world, for many years. The show won the 2012 Lucile Lortel Award for Outstanding Alternative Theatrical Experience. In 2014, he was also the principal actor in a Grand Marnier online campaign, in 2012 he became American Beatbox Champion, and in 2008, he was the winner of the music prize "Jovens Criadores", in Portugal. He also participated in three Beatbox Battle World Championships, in Berlin. Throughout the years, Rizumik has been part of many different endeavors, and has participated and collaborated in many albums, events, and shows around the world. Currently, he's involved in quite a few projects, including A Cappella groups and collaborations with other musicians. He mostly thrives in improvisation, humor, and movement.
