It’s that time of year again! #NACC18 starts THIS FRIDAY, April 27, and we’re filled to capacity with talented high school, collegiate, and professional groups from across the nation (and beyond)! If you can’t make it to Memphis, TN this weekend, FloVoice has you covered – you can stream every performance live right here! For our 4th annual National A Cappella Convention, we’re listing five compelling reasons to attend or stream the convention this weekend, starting at 7 pm CDT.
#1: Deke Sharon
We’re so excited to have a cappella’s #1 guru and the brains behind Pitch Perfect, The Sing-Off, and so much more as our MC and keynote speaker! He’s going to:
- Kick the weekend off at our high school invitational on Friday;
- Direct a super-group of a cappella singers from across the country at our collegiate invitational on Saturday; and
- Give the keynote address at the end of the collegiate invitational!
Exhibit A of “why you don’t want to miss Deke Sharon”:
#2: The High School Invitational (Friday, April 27, 7 pm CDT)
We’ve gathered ten of America’s best high school a cappella groups on one stage for AEA’s high school invitational – the first of FOUR a cappella shows you’ll get to see. Then we’ll wrap up that competition with a performance by Vocalight – an incredible group made up of high school a cappella veterans.
#3: The Saturday Showcase (Saturday, April 28, 11 am CDT)
Among the incredible workshops, masterclasses, and more that the convention has to offer on Saturday morning, we’ll be streaming a showcase featuring Arrow401, the Catch 22 Vocal Band, and ETHOS!
#4: The Collegiate Invitational (Saturday, April 28, 2 pm CDT)
Several of the most innovative and exciting collegiate groups in the country will be competing for glory (and cash/recording prizes) on the NACC stage! Plus, Deke’s NACC choir and keynote address. Berklee’s Pitch Slapped opens up the competition – check them out below.
#5: The Headline Show (Saturday, April 28, 7:30 pm CDT)
Yes, there’s more! The convention wraps up with Italian vocal group Cluster and Memphis’s own OneVoice performing a headlining set. That makes 27 a cappella groups in one weekend – and you can catch them all on FloVoice!
